WORLD SHOCK

Your world vs the real world

One number about the planet. How many people live in Spain? How far is Tokyo from Canberra? Every guess is drawn as what it would mean, then the real world snaps in.

Official figures. Gifts add show, never points.

Every answer comes from a named official source with its year on screen. A gift is celebrated after the result locks and never changes a score.

How to play

  1. Read the questionOne number about the planet: a population, a distance between capitals, an income, how many times one country fits inside another. The source and year are on screen.
  2. Type one numberChat has 20 seconds. One guess, one change, hidden until the lock. 18m, 1.4b, 52k and 7,800 km all count.
  3. Your world, then the real worldEvery guess is drawn as what it would mean: a flight that lands in the sea, a country inflated past its borders. Then the truth snaps in, and chat’s middle guess takes on the streamer’s.

Questions

Where do the numbers come from?

Official sources only: World Bank figures for population, area, income and density, with the year on screen; great-circle distances between capitals; NCD-RisC for the rare height round. Scores use the exact figure.

How are points worked out?

By how close you are, on a ratio: exact scores 100, twice too high or low scores 69, ten times off scores 40. Every honest guess scores something, and there is no speed bonus.

Can I keep it gentle?

Yes. Add &tone=gentle to your link and the YOUR WORLD captions stay plain, with no jokes. Good for family and classroom streams.

Is WORLD SHOCK finished?

It is new on Twitch. It reads your public chat and records nothing on our servers. The phone remote and more platforms are coming next.
